Going all out to reaffirm its position as Malaysia’s No.1 Motoring Friend, the Automobile Association
of Malaysia (AAM) has introduced an Accident Care Programme that has been designed to assist members in their time of difficulty and need.

The programme is an extra service and benefit introduced for Cruize Visa, Shape Lady’s & A1 Team Malaysia card holders who also purchase AAM’s Autopal motor insurance. Autopal’s existing benefits already include 24-hour breakdown assistance available throughout Malaysia, supported by more than 200 workshops and AAM’s breakdown centres, and minoron- the-spot repair services.

Under the Accident Care Programme, AAM will assist members who are involved in an accident that occurs within the Free Breakdown Zone.

In the event of an accident, a personnel from the nearest AAM call centre will be immediately dispatched to the scene to assist and provide members with guidance. This is also to ensure that members are protected from being bullied by unscrupulous tow-truck and independent workshop operators.

AAM has also set-up a special motorcycle patrol unit for the purpose of dispatching its personnel to the scene of the accident quickly.

The vehicle however, must be the member’s registered vehicle with AAM and is insured by Autopal.

The damaged vehicle will then be towed by an appointed panel workshop or tow truck operator to the police station and than to the workshop.

“We designed this programme to safeguard our members in their hour of need,” said AAM Chairman Tunku Datuk Mudzaffar Tunku Mustapha.

The initiative is part of an ongoing effort to reorganize and enhance operations at AAM towards extending greater as well as innovative benefits, convenience and services to its members.

“Addressing all critical areas will ensure the continued success of AAM as well as enable us to not only adapt quickly and become flexible in our processes, but embrace the single-mindedness to strive for enhanced quality, services and greater customer satisfaction,” said Tunku Mudzaffar.

Upon request, AAM can also arrange transportation for the member (not more than 4 persons) to any location within the same AAM Free Breakdown Zone where the accident occurred.

AAM also offers members an independent and unbiased vehicle inspection after the accident repair.
