Friendly, courteous and efficient service
- these are the principles in which the
frontliners at the Automobile Association
of Malaysia’s (AAM) branch offices
nationwide embrace enroute to making
the organization Malaysia’s No. 1
Motoring Friend.
“No doubt on the occasion you do
encounter difficult individuals but that is
part and parcel of being front liners. It’s
how you handle them and making sure
they get what they came for,” said K. T.
Devi who has the distinction of heading
both the AAM branch offices in Petaling
Jaya and Subang Jaya.
“Eye contact is a must. Equally
important is to smile.”
Throughout her 23 years of service
with AAM, Devi has grown to become
a familiar face with a number of senior
members within the Klang Valley area.
“A lot has changed in AAM over the
years and we’ve really grown as an
association. I remember the days when
our membership cards were made out
of manila card. Today, our membership
card has also evolved to incorporate many other features such as Touch & Go
facilities.
“People know AAM today not only for
its towing assistance, but it is a one-stop
motoring organization where they can
renew their insurance policy, vehicle
road tax as well as make hotel bookings,
purchase automotive related products and
enjoy various other services.”
AAM’s PJ branch office is one of the
first to be established in the association’s
75-year history. The Subang Jaya branch
office meanwhile, has been in operation
since 2002 and opens from 9am to 5pm
weekdays, and 9am to 1pm Saturdays.
On the average according to Devi,
signing up for a new membership takes
about 10 minutes, while insurance
renewals can be done within 5 minutes for
existing policy holders and approximately
15 minutes for new policy applications.
AAM also provides a service where the
vehicle road tax and insurance policy is
couriered right to a member’s doorstep
in case they are unable to collect it
personally.
“That’s how far we’ve come…”
